Outline

Surrounded by cedar trees, this is the ancestral tomb of Lord Date Masamune, founder of the Date Clan. It is also the final resting place of the second lord, Tadamune and the third lord, Tsunamune. The Memorial Museum exhibits various historical and cultural materials.

Highlights

Zuihoden reflects the essence of Masamune and is an absolutely gorgeous mausoleum of Momoyama-era style which overwhelms visitors.
