Jogi Nyorai Saiho-ji Temple

Outline

This temple has a Sadayoshido hall, a Shinhondo hall, and a Gojuno-tou (a five-storied pagoda). The Zelkova tree of the burial mound Tenno-zuka (Renri-no-keyaki) is a sacred tree which is believed to help with matchmaking. The temple also has a Tamatebako exhibition room and a Yasaguri tea-ceremony room.(300 a cup)

Highlights

It is located in Heike-ochiudono-sato, the hiding place of ancient Heike clan escapees. It atrracts people to pray for Nyorai-sama (a Buddhist saint, a person who has attained Buddhisthood) to make their once-in-a-lifetime wish heard. Many visitors come to make a wish for the fortune of matchmaking, having children or to give birth to a healthy baby.
