Outline

The museum showcases a collection of Japanese-style paintings, western paintings, woodcuts, sculptures, and handicrafts. The collection of art ranges from the Meiji period through to the present day and are all closely related to Miyagi Prefecture and the Tohoku Region. There are also collections from Kandinsky, Klee, and Schiele.

Highlights

In addition to the permanent and special exhibitions, you can not miss the Churyo Sato Gallery and the Audio-visual room showing many world-famous paintings. You can also enjoy creative activities in the painting room.
