This park has about 190 cherry trees, mainly Somei-yoshino (cherry tree) and Shidare-zakura (weeping cherry). Due to its location in the center of Sendai, it is the most popular viewing spot in the down town area. Various street stalls are usually set up and you can also enjoy viewing cherry blossoms at night.

• From Sendai Sta. (West entrance) bus pool. Take the bus going to "Oomachi Nishikoen-mae". Get off there and walk 7 min.
