Located near Izumi-chuo Subway Station, this is the home stadium of Vegalta Sendai (a professional soccer team) with 20,000 seats. Games held here include soccer, American football, and rugby as well.
Miyagi Stadium
This stadium is the home field of the "Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles", a professional baseball team newly born in Sendai. The facilities include major-league type seating sections, as well as semi-underground type of "Sunakaburi-seki" seats (ringside seats) behind homebase so that visitors can enjoy the live action. The stadium has a seating capacity of 23,000. It has a wingspan of 101.5 meters and a diameter of 122.2 meters, which is the longest among those of the twelve professional baseball teams.
Sendai City Gymnasium
The gymnasium is the home arena of the "Sendai 89ERS", a professional basketball team playing in the nation's first professional basketball league (BJ League). This is Sendai's largest indoor sports facility, used not only for various sports meets, but widely for the coming-of-age ceremony as well as concerts.
