Festival period: December 12-31

When the cold winds of winter begin, one event that the locals of Sendai look forward to is the "SENDAI Pageant of Starlight". This event was started by citizen-volunteers and is well known all over the country as a special winter time event. Keyaki-namiki (row of Zelkova trees) on Jozenji-dori (Avenue) and Aoba-dori (Avenue) which are two beloved streets of the citizens of Sendai are decorated with hundreds of thousand of lights to create a fantasitic luminous corridor. Since 1999, the "Loople Sendai－ Pageant of Starlight bus" has been on service to enable passengers to enjoy passing through the luminous tunnels of lights.
