A one-of-a-kind creation made with Sendai washi paper and a Tohoku kokeshi doll.
"Yanagiu Washi" is a handmade Japanese paper that has been crafted in Sendai for approximately 400 years.
In this experience, you tear the washi paper and attach it to a kokeshi doll, then finish the face with a felt-tip pen.
No special skills are required — though sticking the paper to the curved surface of the kokeshi is a delightfully tricky challenge.
This experience is open to individuals, groups, and school trips alike. Please feel free to apply using the "Apply for this experience" button above.
