Abe Kamaboko-ten is the originator of the Sendai specialty “sasakamaboko”. “Sasa” means bamboo-leaf and kamaboko means “fishcake”. The shape was inspired by the Date family crest which features a sparrows & bamboo motif. As our signature product, we take great pride in preserving tradition while creating new flavors of kamaboko to suit modern tastes. Abe Kamaboko-ten strives to maintain its traditions and provide the best products to its customers, without losing the passion it expressed at the time of its founding.
