Make and decorate a miniature Sendai Tanabata decoration, a summer tradition in Sendai! It comes with a wooden stand, perfect for interior decoration!

Sendai Tanabata Festival is one of "Tohoku's 3 Great Summer Festivals". Every year from August 6th to 8th, the downtown shopping arcades are filled with colorful streamers. With this experience, you can bring home your own piece of a Sendai tradition!

【Flow of Experience】
1. Make ornaments to create Tanabata decorations, such as streamers and paper cranes.
2. Decorate the bamboo branches with the kimono, nets, and other finished ornaments.
3. Attach the decorations to a wooden stand and you are finished.

Our staff will guide you through the process, so you don't have to worry if you are a beginner.

Craft Studio Nadeshiko

Craft Studio Nadeshiko offers workshops to experience Tohoku and Miyagi culture through making Zunda (crushed edamame) mochi rice cakes workshop on location, miniature Tanabata Festival decorations, and various other seasonal crafts, as well as handmade goods and crafts, such as embroidered items and woodworking products featuring Tohoku and other crafts. Whether you are a parent, a child, a friend, or a solo traveler, we offer a quick and casual experience that you can enjoy. We look forward to your visit!
