Let's go see the spectacular winter scenery of snow-covered trees while riding on the "Wild Monster," a heated snowcat taxi!

During the heavy snowfall of the winter season, the juhyō "snow monsters" (ice covered trees) in Miyagi Prefecture can only be seen by the "Wild Monster", a special snowcat vehicle able to transport tourists. The juhyō in Miyagi Zao is unique in that you can see the majestic form of the ice and snow in its natural form. In addition, since reservations are required, there is no need to worry about crowds or waiting times. The journey to the juhyō spot on a powerful snowcat is a real adventure! The heated snowcat will take you to the ice field at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters!

Miyagi Zao Sumikawa Snow Park

Located at an altitude of 1,100m in Miyagi Prefecture, we are a popular ski resort famous for high quality powder snow. Additionally, there are also tours where you can see the symbol of Zao, the beautiful shapes of nature-made “Snow-Monsters” (ice covered trees), the snow-covered crater lake of Zao Okama, or the “Snow Corridor” of Zao Echo Line. Even if you don’t ski or snowboard, you can enjoy the beauty of nature by riding in the “Wild Monster,” our special snowcat vehicle which drives over snow. The snow park is a lively location popular with tourists. On a clear day, you can view a panorama overlooking the Pacific Ocean in addition to the ice and snow scenery. At Mountain Field Miyagi Zao Sumikawa Snow Park, from late December to mid-March, you can view the famous "snow monsters". Visitors from small children to the elderly can safely go up to the ice field at an altitude of 1,600 meters with the "Wild Monster" snowcat experience!

Cancellation Policy	The experience will be canceled in case of stormy weather. We will let you know if the tour will be held the day before or on the day. If it is decided to be canceled depending on the situation, we will contact you through the ski resort.
Important Notes for Participants	Please do not ride the snow vehicle with pets or if you are have serious motion sickness.
