Dress as a samurai inside an authentic reconstructed Japanese castle!

Experience wearing authentically-made replica samurai armor inside Shiroishi Castle, located in the center of Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture. The suits of armor are modeled after famous military commanders (Masamune Date,Kagetsuna Katakura, Yukimura Sanada) from Japan’s Warring States period and one doesn't get the chance to wear often in other places. "Ashigaru-san" (foot soldier) and Hime(Japanese princess) from the Shiroishi welcome squad (historical character actors) will help you dress. Additionally, you'll be putting on an undergarment (kosode), traditional trousers (hakama), and tabi socks as well. The tabi socks will be presented as a commemorative gift after the experience concludes.

Throughout the year, experiences are available, with closures on every Wednesday and Thursday. The schedule is as follows: From April to October, operating hours are from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and from November to March, it is from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There are no specific items to bring on the day, but we recommend avoiding skirts (as they may interfere with wearing the armor on the legs) and tank tops (to prevent direct contact between the skin and the armor). Please come dressed comfortably to facilitate movement. Please also indicate your clothing size and shoe size when making your reservation.

We have 3 suits of armor for adults that are modeled after Masamune Date,Kagetsuna Katakura, Yukimura Sanada and 2 bridal type kimono, so we are able to accommodate both individuals and groups. Please contact us in advance if you visit the castle as a group!

Also, please note that you may not be able to fully experience the armor wearing experience depending on your body type. Please also indicate your clothing size and shoe size when making your reservation.
