At Kokeshi no Shimanuki Main Store, located in the arcade shopping street stretching from Sendai Station, you can enjoy a kokeshi painting experience with no special preparation required.
Simply choose your favorite shape from 6 types of kokeshi and design it freely with a felt-tip pen. With plenty of reference samples available, there is no need to worry even if you are not confident with drawing. Whether you follow the traditional style exactly, or draw your favorite character — there are no rules.
It becomes a one-of-a-kind souvenir from your travels.

Kokeshino SHIMANUKI CO.,LTD

Our historical shop inside the Sendai shopping arcades sells kokeshi dolls and various crafts from Miyagi and Tohoku. Some Sendai crafts and special items sold in our shop are not sold at any other store. Besides shopping, visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as kokeshi doll painting or making an LED candle.
