Sendai City Jomon Site Park

Sendai City Jomon Site Park

The Sendai City Jomon Site Park is a facility that conserves and makes use of Yamada-Uenodai site, which was a large village in the Jomon Period about 4,000 years ago. We offer experiences to learn the skills and wisdom of the Jomon people, such as making magatama (curved beads) jewelry, pottery, and starting a fire (please see website for details or call for inquiries). Outside there are replica pit dwellings from the Jomon period and a restored natural setting where you can stroll around. Various events such as festivals and lectures are held throughout the year.
