Make your own Tanabata festival decorations inside the Sendai Tanabata Museum!

Make miniature Tanabata decorations while learning the meaning of each decoration. The Tanabata festival is held all around Japan, but Sendai’s Tanabata festival is the biggest and most famous. Inside the Tanabata Museum you can enjoy the world of Tanabata, often called the “Star Festival,” all year round. Children can also easily create the decorations as Japanese paper is simply folded like origami.

Kanezakisouhonten Sasakama-kan

Kanezakisouhonten Sasakama-kan

The "Sasakama-kan" was created to express the Kanezaki company's “hopes” and “desires” together with our ongoing corporate philosophy of “delicious and fun”. Our company specializes in making "sasa-kamaboko" ("bamboo leaf-shaped fish cake"), which originated in Sendai. Our amusement facility, factory and store is somewhere you can fully enjoy the food and culture of Sendai and Miyagi. Visit us to taste and experience the attraction of kamaboko fishcakes!
