Welcome to Kagamoku Kokeshi Café! Let's make an original baby kokeshi doll from local Naruko dogwood!

Paint your 4~5cm baby kokeshi any color you would like. You can attach a strap to the kokeshi or make it into a necklace at no extra cost. Even small children can enjoy this experience. When it is not crowded, you can join without a reservation.

Naruko Onsen Moritabi Association

The Naruko Onsen Moritabi Association is a council of local inns, restaurants, forestry workers, craftsmen, and educators. We offer various nature programs inside the Kurikoma Quasi-National Park national nature reserve. For example, our “woodworking culture experience” helps participants gain a deeper appreciation of the rich natural environment necessary to create the traditional Naruko-style lacquerware and kokeshi dolls. We also offer environmental programs as opportunities to learn about forest recycling and energy circulation by using forest resources. Through unique experience programs that combine activities with stays in hot spring areas, we aim to create a new tourism system that benefits both visitors and residents. Kagamoku Kokeshi Café and shop respects the "traditional style” of kokeshi dolls. We hope that you will deepen your interest in authentic kokeshi dolls, craftsmen, and kokeshi doll producing areas through this experience and browsing our shop’s collection. We mainly sell our goods only at this shop because we want many people to come to Naruko in person. Please soak in the hot springs, stay at the inns, and come to buy kokeshi while enjoying Naruko!
