Downtown Yamagata City Bar Hopping
Join a guided pub crawl without tourists. Experience local bar hopping in Yamagata City!

Going out to eat or drink in Japan can be intimidating. Izakaya (traditional style Japanese pubs) can be very difficult since the buildings sometimes don’t have windows, and of course few places have English menus or English-speaking staff—even in large cities. However, you don’t have to give up and go to fast food or chain restaurants.
Our local bar hopping guide will make sure you get to experience the exciting and delicious specialties of Yamagata Prefecture at three unique restaurants/bars. The guide will help you communicate with friendly owners and customers and explain background information about each dish.
Experience Contents:
・Guided tour to three local eating establishments.
・At each location, a set of food and drinks will be served.
・A special course made with the support of local restaurants in Yamagata City.
Starting from the front of Yamagata Station, your guide will walk you through the lively nightlife district. Visit three carefully selected eating and drinking establishments that introduce the flavors of Yamagata. We'll spend about an hour eating and drinking at each spot, so your stomach will be completely full when we finish! Local specialties that change with the seasons and handmade specialty cocktails or locally brewed sake are just some of the many Yamagata flavors you can experience in just a few hours! The first location on the tour also includes all-you-can-drink whiskey highballs!
Explore a cool modern izakaya atmosphere, a high-end cocktail bar, and a homey, traditional hole-in-the-wall spot. Soon you’ll be navigating Japan’s nightlife like a pro! Your guide can also provide tips and advice about Japanese drinking culture, from how to “kanpai” (cheers) to cultural norms and manners.
