The patterns of glass are handmade and made without using machines. You can create a pattern in the surface of glass by blasting sand against it.

In this experience, you will create your own original glass pattern. First think about which pattern you would like. Then create a masking sticker in the shape of the pattern and paste it on the glass. Finally, the sandblasting machine will scrape off the glass where the masking seal is not affixed, leaving the pattern engraved on the glass surface. If you are not good at thinking about patterns yourself, we have a design book at our shop. You can create a glass by selecting your favorite pattern from the book. In addition, small children have a craft punch, so they can easily create a masking seal by punching out the design.

You can bring home your creation on the same day of your experience. Why not spend the evening at a nearby hot spring and make a toast with your own glass to great memories in Sendai?

Glass Studio Hatuki

Making art by directly melting glass with a burner is called burner work. At our studio we make glass ornaments, glass beads, etc. using burner work. We offer this experience with the hopes that many people will come to enjoy this special technique and know the craft of glasswork.

It is okay to think about which pattern you would like after coming to the workshop. However, if you think about the pattern you want to make before you come, you can make a better glass. In that case, it is best to print out an image of the pattern you like and bring it with you. Everyone will be working hard, so it could become suddenly quiet. However, please happily chat with others to enjoy the experience even more. To make the masking seal, we will use scissors, a knife, and a craft punch. The finished product is full of handmade charm! You will be able to make your own unique glass like no other in the world!
