Visitors to Zuihoden Mausoleum, where Sendai’s first feudal lord Date Masamune forever rests, are welcomed by beautiful greenery and tranquility. You can start to understand the character of Date Masamune by viewing the beloved items buried with him. If you climb to the top of Aobayama hill to the Sendai Castle Ruins, you will be impressed by the magnificent scenery of the Sendai Plains stretching all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
