How about some fitness walking at one of Japan's Three Most Scenic Spots?

Goshuran is a running and walking tour of temples and shrines. The word “Goshurun” is a combination of the words “Goshuin” (temple seal collecting), running/walking, and Michelin, because we want to offer high quality.

Walk the 7.5km along Matsushima Bay from JR Matsushima Kaigan Station to JR Rikuzenhamada Station. On this walk you can see unique views of Matsushima not seen by most tourists. You'll be able to see clear views of the sea and countryside. We’ll also have a special chance to walk about spiritual locations in Matsushima.

Please prepare by wearing clothes that are easy to move in, shoes that are easy to walk in, and bring rain gear, snacks and drinks, etc.

Goshuran Matsushima

Let’s explore deep Matsushima, far off the beaten path of most tourists. The local guide will take you to places that you can't usually walk to, such as Ogidani lookout where you can experience the beauty of Matsushima Bay and the “Horse’s Back,” a natural pier in nearby Rifu Town. Although the guiding is simple, the guide will be with you the entire walk and introduce the history and culture of Matsushima. Please note that some courses will be changed if there is wasp activity in the area.
