Since long ago people have come from great distances to visit Shiogama Shrine, one of the highest ranking shrines in all of Tohoku. While the sites of Shiogama are impressive, so is the local food! Let’s walk around the lively modern-day shrine neighborhood to enjoy the many Shiogama flavors!

Although we will only walk an area of 2km surrounding Hon-Shiogama Station, there are plenty of shops related to drinking and eating we will visit. There are many well-established local shops with a long history, prospering thanks to their proximity to the shrine. Whether you love to drink alcohol or have a sweet tooth, you are sure to become a fan of some of the places we introduce on this Shiogama foodie tour.

We plan and organize town walk tours and hands-on activities that can be experienced in 90 to 120 minutes, mainly in Sendai City. Local guides who love Sendai, Miyagi, and Tohoku will guide you to their favorite spots and introduce them from the perspective of local residents. We offer experiences on various themes such as "History," "Food," "Tradition," "Landscape," and "Sake." There are some programs limited to specific times or dates, and others available through consultation and reservation, so please feel free to contact us for inquiries.

Shiogama is most famous for its sushi, but there are so many other delicious flavors. We’ll visit as many local shops and sake breweries as possible and introduce the attraction of Shiogama's food culture!
